Pilot License

The private pilot certificate (or private pilot license) has been the most commonly sought-after pilot certificate for years. Some people seek a private pilot certificate purely as a hobby or sport, while others desire the convenience of aircraft travel for vacations or to visit family members. Some private pilots and aircraft owners use their airplane as a primary mode of transportation to business meetings or events, and for some, it's a step in the road toward becoming an airline pilot.

Private pilots are trained well enough to navigate a small aircraft through the nation's airspace by themselves. While in training, a private pilot learns aircraft maneuvers, navigation techniques, emergency procedures, and cross-country flight planning.

We start you off with the basics and build to more advanced tasks. Each building block of the Private Pilot Course focuses on a core skill set. Once you have mastered that skill set you will move to the next set. When you have completed all of the building blocks, you will take the Private Pilot Checkride. In addition to the physical skills of flight, you will learn the higher order decision making abilities that will keep you safe once you are out in the real world.

Requirements for the Private Pilot Course:

• Must be atleast 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English
• Pass the written exam given by Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority on required knowledge areas.
• Pass the oral and flight test given by a designated flight examiner
• Hold a current class II medical certificate
